This weekend (Nov. 24th to 26th 2017), the CRUSH Major Peewee  team won GOLD at the Gobble, Gobble Cup in Burlington, VERMONT!  The players came out strong this Friday with pink tape on their sticks and breast cancer ribbon stickers on their helmets, dedicating this tournament to one of their hockey mom undergoing breast cancer surgery this week.
Taking on the Triboro Titans (Marlborough, Massachusetts), they tied their first game 2-2.  It’s on Saturday morning that they met the Woonsocket North Stars (Manville, Rhode Island) for the first time, where they lost 4-1.  They got back up again and won their second game of the day with a crushing score of 5-1 VS the VHTC (Burlington, Vermont), qualifying for the final on Sunday morning at 11h30am.  In this final game, they met the Woonsocket North Stars (Manville, Rhode Island) once more and reclaimed their title, winning this final game with a score of 4-3.  This was not an easy task, the score was 2-0 for the North Stars at the end of the first period.  Crush dominated the second period ending it with a 4-2 advantage.  The North Stars pulled their goalie and scored a third goal with only 28 seconds remaining to the third period.  With intensity, team work, discipline and class… the Peewee Major Crush team won the championship and came back to Canada with gold medals around their necks!  The tournament MVP was awarded to Tristan Simoneau.
Their next tournament (Annual RepB Jacques “Coco” Lemay Tournament) takes place at the CIH in Rockland from December 8th to 10th 2017.  Go Crush Go!!!
