Crush Major Bantam Finalists / Crush Bantam majeur finalistes

Less than 2 weeks after tryouts were over, the Crush Major Bantam team was already on its way to Bradford, Ontario for their first away tournament of the year.  The team played in the Blue and Gold Classic over the September 25-27, 2015 weekend.  This season opener tournament was a great way to get the kids together and do some team-bonding as they start a new year together.

The team first confronted the Newmarket Redman on Friday and secured a 5-1 win.  Later on that day, they played the Hespeler Shamrocks which ended in a 4-0 shutout for the Crush.  On Saturday, the team met up with the KMHA Cobras and won 3-1.  Our team ended up in 2nd place in this round robin and had to play the KMHA Cobras again that same day in order to make it to the final.  The Crush beat the Cobras again 2-1 and proceeded to the final game Sunday afternoon against the Hamilton Huskies.  The Huskies scored the first goal but the Crush came back and tied the game 1-1.  The crowd was then left in suspense as none of the two teams managed to score in regulation time and the game went in not one, not two, but three periods of overtime.  Despite the great efforts of all our players, the Huskies finally scored the winning goal.

Thank you to all players, coaching staff and parents for a wonderful weekend.  The Crush Major Bantam will start its regular season on October 6th and look forward to a successful 2015-16 season.



Moins de deux semaines après que les essais furent terminés, les joueurs du Crush Bantam majeur étaient déjà en route pour leur premier tournoi à l'extérieur à Bradford, Ontario.  L'équipe a participé dans le Blue and Gold Classic du 25 au 27 septembre 2015. Ce tournoi était une belle occasion de rassembler les joueurs et créer des liens étroits entre eux en ce début de saison.

Le Crush a d'abord affronté le Newmarket Redman le vendredi pour signer une victoire de 5-1.  Plus tard au courant de la journée, ils ont blanchi les Shamrocks de Hespeler 4-0.  Le lendemain, le Crush a défait le KMHA Cobras par la marque de 3-1. Le Crush a donc terminé en 2e place dans ce tournoi à la ronde et a affronté à nouveau le KMHA Cobras pour terminer la partie cette fois par le compte de 2-1.  Le Crush s'assura donc une place en finale contre les Hamilton Huskies.  Ce sont les Huskies qui ont inscrit le premier but de la partie finale mais le Crush a finalement répliqué pour égaler le pointage 1-1.  Ce match a tenu la foule en attente jusqu'à la fin car aucune des deux équipes n'a réussi à compter par la suite et le match se transporta non pas pour une, pas deux, mais trois périodes de temps supplémentaire. Malgré les grands efforts de tous les joueurs, les Huskies ont finalement trouvé le fond du filet pour l'emporter 2-1.

Merci aux joueurs, aux entraineurs et aux parents pour ce beau tournoi. Le Crush Bantam majeur amorcera sa saison régulière le 6 octobre prochain et déploiera tous les efforts requis pour connaitre du succès en cette saison 2015-16.
